Truphone and Sim local announce eSIM partnership
Today, Truphone and Sim Local announce a partnership that will allow Sim Local’s customers to download Truphone digital eSIM data plans straight to their mobiles for instant, hassle-free international connectivity.
This is made possible by the combination of Sim Local’s UNITE platform and Truphone Connect, a revolutionary cPaaS (communication platform as a service).
Sim Local is currently the largest seller of local SIM cards in the UK travel market and has been trialling the sale of eSIM plans in selected stores since April 2021. The partnership with Truphone opens the door for introducing even greater numbers of customers to this game-changing technology. With data plans that cover 113 countries, Truphone’s local and regional plans offer unrivalled convenience for travellers, who will no longer need additional plastic SIM cards.
The partnership will initially launch for Sim Local customers in their arrival stores at London Heathrow. Over the coming months, Sim Local will offer customers globally the benefit of Truphone eSIM through digital kiosks, the Sim Local app and global partnerships with digital travel companies – including online travel agencies and airlines.
