Truphone announces IoT collaboration with Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corporation’s Spresense™ IoT solution
UK-based MVNO Truphone, the world’s first global mobile network and eSIM software pioneer, collaborates with Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corporation, (“Sony”), enabling global connectivity for their SPRESENSE™ IoT solution.
With the joint collaboration in place, Sony’s state-of-the-art SPRESENSE LTE extension boards are set up to offer Truphone’s unparalleled “out of the box” global connectivity, allowing IoT developers to network their devices more easily than ever, no matter where they are in the world. Enabled by a single SIM card, hundreds of mobile network operators are controlled through a centralised Portal to create a future-proof solution that ensures you can connect, monitor and control vast numbers of devices remotely and securely.
Many IoT devices incorporate sensors that rely on cellular connectivity to send and receive data, including images from cameras. Sony’s SPRESENSE LTE extension boards enable IoT developers to create those connections through the LTE Cat-M1 and NB-IoT (NarrowBand IoT) standards and offer a unique combination of extensive computing power and advanced power consumption that’s efficient enough to run on a battery, making them perfect for a range of IoT and Edge computing use cases.
Equipped with smart sensing processors for IoT applications, the extension boards will join the SPRESENSE line of board products and are expected to encourage even greater IoT development.
