Alfing Kessler Sondermaschinen GmbH
"I have made many decisions in my professional life. It is, of course, risky to change mobile providers but, for us, it has paid off."
Dietmar Wieber, IT Director, Alfing Kessler Sondermaschinen GmbH
Alfing Kessler Sondermaschinen GmbH builds the machines involved in the manufacture of engine components for the automotive industry. The company has been in the engineering business for over 75 years and ships its products to wherever vehicles are manufactured – whether it’s China, Mexico, Brazil or the USA.
Around 40-50 of the company’s staff travel internationally on a regular basis. Over the past few years, effective mobility and data-on-the-move have become increasingly important for them.
The company was experiencing issues with managing providers – a result of different employees having different mobile phone contracts with different terms and conditions.
It was looking for a supplier capable of offering a shared mobile plan – one that would be suitable for the company’s entire workforce. It also needed a simple management solution for its IT department to use.
Truphone was chosen as the company’s connectivity provider, and IT Director Dietmar Wieber still hasn’t encountered any other suppliers in the market capable of providing comparable plans.
Since moving its connectivity to Truphone, Alfing Kessler Sondermaschinen GmbH’s mobile phone costs have been reduced by approximately two-thirds. Now, each team member has only one SIM card and the team shares one plan for voice and data, making the whole process much easier.
While changing mobile providers can be considered a risky decision, for Alfing Kessler Sondermaschinen GmbH, it’s one that has definitely paid off.
